ART EXHIBITION 2017
In our continuing efforts to support the arts at our event-
HOTH-CON 2017 will host an ART EXHIBITION this year.
VEERA PIRILÄ
Kuvataiteilija, kuvataideopettaja, TaM.
s.1979
Taiteeni lähtökohta on populaarikulttuurin tunnettujen hahmojen muokkaaminen kubistiseen tyyliin. Valmiin maalauksen on oltava eheä kokonaisuus, vaikka maalaus koostuukin osista. On kiehtovaa työskennellä maalauksen keinoin näiden asioiden parissa.

CARLOS GIMÉNEZ
Carlos Giménez has long been considered one of the great cartoonists, not just in Spain, but in the world. He has written and drawn many science fiction series, like Delta 99 and Dani Futuro, with Víctor Mora; and historical and adventure series, adapting the works of Brian Aldiss, Jack London, or Stanislaw Lem. He has made the historical series 36-39 and Spain United, Great and Free, and has been writing an adaptation of Arturo Perez-Reverte’s Captain Alatriste series of historical adventures.
Alex Dueben. The Comic Journal. May, 2016.
Dani Futuro marks a line in the artist’s professional career. The series, which was created at the end of 1969 for the magazine Gaceta Junior (later transformed into Gaceta Junior Tintín) was a fresh breeze indicating change in the Spanish editorial market. In one of its first stories, Mundo Perdido, Mundo Ganado (March. 1970) the basis for the series starring Daniel Blancor, a character which has a lot in common with Luke Skywalker, were established. The curious fact is that Blancor was born almost a decade before the latter.
